Emily H. Fisher- Managing Partner Although a resident of Massachusetts, Emily has owned a home in the Catskills since 1971. She partnered with Dean Gitter in the development of Catskill Corners and the Emerson Resort & Spa because of her commitment to sensible development in the region and her desire to create employment opportunities for local area residents. Emily is a long time supporter of many Catskill institutions including the Belleayre Conservancy, the Catskill Mountain Foundation, The Mountain Top Historical Society and the Haines Falls Free Library. She is an educator and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bard College and Chairman of the Board of Overseers at Bard College at Simon’s Rock. Emily attended Quaker schools in Philadelphia before earning an AB degree from Vassar College and an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. |

Dean Gitter – Partner Nearly 40 years a resident of the Hudson Valley, Dean has brought to fruition a number of successful ventures in the region: Rudi’s Restaurant, WTZA-TV, the Big Indian Spring Water Company, and, most recently, the much-heralded Emerson Resort and Spa. Dean is committed to preserving the Hudson Valley while promoting it as a world-class vacation destination. He has served as chairman of the Route 28 Corridor Committee, the economic development arm of the Town of Shandaken; a member of the Town Planning Board; founder and executive director of the Central Catskills Planning Alliance; a former member of the Catskill Watershed Partnership Museum Committee; honorary trustee of the Belleayre Conservatory, and co-founder with the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development of the Upstate/Downstate Partnership, a consortium of concerned citizens whose cooperation was helpful in the development of the Watershed Memorandum of Agreement. He is a graduate of Phillips Academy, Andover, Harvard College (B.A. ‘56), the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and the Harvard Graduate School of Business and Administration (M.B.A. with Distinction, ‘62). |

Naomi Umhey – Chief Executive Officer As Chief Executive Officer of Emerson Resort & Spa, Naomi Umhey develops all aspects of the property’s strategic planning while overseeing its management, finance and program initiatives. A long-time Emerson team member, Naomi has mastered every facet of the property and surrounding Mt. Tremper area. She began her career at the Emerson in 1996 as a part-time sales associate in the onsite Country Store. Over the next seven years, she quickly moved up the ranks, holding positions such as Merchandise Buyer, Store Manager and General Manager. In 2003 she was appointed Operations Manager to oversee Emerson’s entire maintenance and operations branches while continuing to act as the liaison between its Managing Partner and retail division. She was promoted again in January 2009 to Chief Operating Officer before accepting her current position in June, 2009. Naomi’s strong leadership skills and remarkable acumen for motivating, mentoring and nurturing staff development have proven to be a primary factor in the hotel’s success. |

Tamara Murray – Public Relations Director Tamara joined the Emerson team in 2007. Drawing upon her 16 years of experience in the human resources industry and knowledge from running three successful at-home businesses, Tamara flourished immediately. She demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills and within five months, was promoted to assist in the sales and marketing department. She continued to thrive as her interest in the hospitality industry and brand development became apparent to upper management. One year later, Tamara was offered the role of Public Relations Director and has played an integral part in creating an established reputation for the property among guests and in the media world. In her time as Public Relations Director, Tamara has developed and overseen the execution of several new initiatives, garnering significant media attention for the property. Working with the culinary, spa, sales and special events teams, Tamara enables the departments to collaborate with one another, creating a streamlined and multifaceted Emerson experience. From value-added travel packages to innovative spa menu items, Emerson continues to surprise guests with its one-of-a-kind offerings. |
